David C. Stephens joined UCM in May of 2004. As Chief Financial Officer, he is responsible for the Accounting and Operations functions overseeing the finance, accounting, operations, compliance and reporting functions, including consulting with UCM clients about hedge implementation.

Mr. Stephens has broad industry experience in financial services and mortgage banking industries. He began his career in 1969 at Arthur Andersen & Co. as an auditor and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1970. He later joined Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) and left them as a partner in 1987 to join Lomas Mortgage USA, where he served as a Director and Executive Vice President and Senior Accounting and Control officer and senior operations officer for the Master Servicing and Insurance Operations divisions of Lomas, the largest mortgage banking enterprise in the United States at that time.

From 1994 until May of 2004, Mr. Stephens was an independent consultant, primarily to the mortgage banking industry, focusing on issues surrounding risk management and the accounting for derivatives, residuals, mortgage servicing rights and other mortgage-related investments owned by banks and mortgage bankers. Dave received a BS in Accounting from Florida State University in 1969.
